Benoît Mahe joined the Sharvy team in September 2020 as Head of Commercial. He introduces himself to you through a few questions!

Hello Benoît, can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background before joining Sharvy?

Hello, my name is Benoît Mahé. I am 40 years old and I am the Sales Director at Sharvy. My professional career has been rich and varied, allowing me to acquire vast experience in different sectors and types of companies.

Before joining Sharvy, I had the opportunity to work for large industrial groups like Mars and Procter & Gamble. These experiences allowed me to develop strong skills in commercial strategy, team management, and customer relations. Working for industry giants also gave me a global perspective on the market and the challenges that large companies face.

Subsequently, I also worked in several startups, which gave me a more dynamic and innovative view of the business world. In these more agile environments, I learned to adapt quickly and to be creative in problem-solving.

However, one of my most significant experiences was traveling around the world with my family just before joining Sharvy. This adventure allowed me to discover different cultures, meet incredible people, and gain a new perspective on life and work. This journey strengthened my initiative spirit and adaptability, essential qualities for my current role at Sharvy.

Joining Sharvy after this enriching experience was a natural choice. I was attracted by the company’s values, its dynamism, and its ambition to revolutionize work organization through innovative solutions. My diverse background enables me to bring a strategic and operational vision to help Sharvy achieve its business objectives and expand into new markets.

Can you describe a typical day at Sharvy for a Sales Director? What are your main responsibilities?

My goal at Sharvy is twofold: to support the commercial development of the company and to manage the sales team by providing them with all the necessary tools to achieve our objectives. It’s a real daily challenge.

My typical day at Sharvy usually starts with a coffee. Then, I review requests from prospects and clients, which includes analyzing new opportunities and managing existing needs. The rest of the day is often filled with numerous meetings and client presentations. It is important to understand the specific needs of our clients and to offer them tailored solutions (parking management, charging points, workstations, and other resources). Each presentation is an opportunity to show how Sharvy’s solutions can transform their work organization and improve the lives of their employees. These interactions also allow me to gather valuable feedback that helps us continuously improve our offerings.

In parallel, I make sure to have individual and group check-ins with the sales team, especially with Anaïs and Marine, our business developers, to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies to adopt. These sessions are essential for maintaining good communication and ensuring that everyone is aligned with our short and long-term goals.

Another important part of my job involves developing commercial strategies and tracking the team’s performance. This includes analyzing sales and implementing action plans to achieve our goals.

Managing the sales team is also a key aspect of my role. This involves training them, motivating them, and supporting them in their efforts. My goal is to create a positive and motivating work environment where everyone can give their best.

Despite these challenges, what motivates me every day is seeing our team excel and witnessing the positive impact of our solutions on the companies we support.

We’ve heard you’re a big sports enthusiast, especially surfing. Can you talk about this passion and how you find the time to practice?

Haha indeed, it’s a true passion.

Surfing is much more than just a hobby for me; it’s a way to recharge and find a balance between my professional and personal life. I discovered surfing a few years ago, and since then, it has become an essential activity, especially during vacations! The adrenaline rush from catching a good wave and the feeling of freedom on the water are indescribable.

We are fortunate to be located just 15 minutes from the Carnon surf spot, which allows me to practice regularly. When the conditions are favorable, I do not hesitate to head to the beach during my lunch break to catch some waves. These midday surf sessions are real breaths of fresh air that allow me to disconnect, recharge, and return to the office with a clear and rested mind.

Incorporating sport into my daily routine is a priority for me. The energy and discipline that sport brings are directly reflected in my work, and I always encourage my team to find activities that they are passionate about and that rejuvenate them, just like surfing, handball, and running do for me.

What has been your favorite moment so far with the Sharvy team? Are there any events or experiences you would like to share?

My favorite moment? I think it was when I almost beat Stéphane at karting… 😉

It was a particularly memorable team building event. We had organized a karting activity for the entire team, and the atmosphere was electric. Everyone was determined to give their best on the track, and the friendly competition really brought out the team spirit and dynamism of Sharvy.

Beyond this anecdote, what I really appreciate about Sharvy is our ability to mix serious work with moments of fun. Whether it’s during shared lunches or team building events, every occasion is an opportunity to strengthen our cohesion and team spirit.
